Floral Notes
Flower wrap materials, non-toxic dish detergent, & in celebration of RFK Jr.'s HHS Secretary confirmation, a throwback discussion on the medical industrial complex and more.
Flower Wrap Materials Sourced
On the heels of that certain holiday where flowers are abundant, I think itโs best that certain arrangements are left to professionals. However, for more casual occasions, I love making my own floral wraps for gifts. I finally took the time to source quality materials that simplify the process.
Special thanks to my talented florist friend, Sarah, (if youโre in the Dallas area, please check out her shop and gorgeous creations at Park Cities Petals) who advised on the best scissors & cutters as linked below.
Craft Paper for Wrap: Individual sheets 20 x 30โ & 15โ x 20โ or roll.
Ribbon: Secure the paper with a bit of tape and then wrap with ribbon options such as natural cotton or double-faced satin. Fabric scissors ensure a crisp cut.
Custom Stickers: If you had something special in mind to print, you could skip the ribbon and add a custom embossed sticker for an elevated touch.
Flower Scissors/Cutters: Sakagen Flower Scissors (I was told florists love these), Oasis Floral Bunch Cutters (also florist recommended), Niwaki Higurashi Scissors (not tested, but I love this sleek design).
Flowers from your favorite local spot, of course.
DIY Non-Toxic Dish Detergent
Easy to make a large batch, inexpensive, non-toxic, and effective. Yes, please to all. Details & instructions on the Gathered Home and Kin website.
TETRAGRAMMATON PODCAST: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. & Dr. Jack Kruse
In celebration of Robert F. Kennedyโs confirmation as the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, it seemed timely to include this podcast that originally aired in 2023. Itโs a comprehensive conversation covering:
Water pollution
Privatization of natural resources vs. public trust rights
The Smith Mundt Act โ also know as the U.S. Information and Educational Exchange Act of 1948 โ allowed the U.S. to disseminate propaganda material abroad through broadcasting channels (part of the larger and timely USAID conversation where money funds newspapers, television, etc.; USAID evolved to be the largest funder of journalism in the world). However, this act made it illegal to propagandize the American people. This was amended in 2013, lifting the domestic ban.
Fiat currency & removal of the gold standard and implications
NIH corruption & regulatory agencies financially tied to big pharma (in 2023, approximately 55% of the FDAโs funding came from the pharmaceutical industry)
Bioweapons
Monsanto trials - Roundup/Glyphosate
Chronic disease epidemic:
โWe know itโs an environmental toxin because genes donโt cause epidemics. They can provide the vulnerabilityโฆ (but) itโs not genetic.โ
Cumulative effects of possible factors such as: PFAS (flame retardant used on furniture, childrenโs pajamas), glyphosate (herbicide), atrazine (herbicide), neonicotinoid (insecticide), wi-fi radiation
The Vaccine Act of 1986 greatly changed the landscape & increased pharmaceutical profits as:
1. federal government funds majority of product development
2. pharmaceutical companies shielded from downstream liabilities
3. no need for advertising/marketing costs because all on CDC schedule
โWhy is it that when my uncle was president, 6% of American kids were obese, today, 42% are obese and 75% are overweight? How did that happen? The kids didn't just suddenly get lazy. They're being poisoned.โ RFK Jr.
Thank you, as always, for being here. Have a great week! - BB
