Sauced
Sugar-free sauces, the perfect summer candle, a non-toxic stain remover, & fasting resources.
Processed sugar is hidden in a shocking amount of condiments. Some are perplexing, like packaged guacamole. Have our palates become so skewed that we need sugar in foods that aren’t meant to be sweet?
It does take a bit of searching and label reading, but a few options are listed below that are either unsweetened or naturally sweetened.
Yellowbird Hot Sauces: Organic Sriracha (sweetened with dates) & Organic Habanero (sweetened with dates)
Primal Kitchen: Organic Ketchup (unsweetened) & Mayo with Avocado Oil (unsweetened)
Siete Foods: Botana Sauce (sweetened with dates) & Creamy Habenero (sweetened with dates)
Bragg: ACV Vinaigrette (sweetened with honey) & Coconut Liquid Aminos (soy-sauce alternative, sweetened with coconut blossom nectar)
ROMA HEIRLOOM TOMATO CANDLE
You may not think tomatoes and candles are compatible, but Flamingo Estate’s Roma Heirloom Tomato Candle will convince you otherwise. “Reminiscent of balmy summer nights in the garden” its earthy, slightly spicy scent fills your space in an unexpected, lovely way. It’s also a clean choice, made with 100% vegetable soy wax, a cotton wick, and essential oils.
NON-TOXIC STAIN REMOVER
Marketed as a parental essential, but kids or no kids, Miss Mouth’s Messy Eater Stain Treater is a laundry room must-have. This non-toxic spray, with an EWG rating of 1, does an exceptionally good job tackling stains. I even used it on an old grease spot and — voilà — it was gone after the first wash.
EXPLORING FASTING
Earlier this spring, I did my first three-day (mostly water) fast to support cellular autophagy and reduce inflammation. I say mostly because, to be honest, I had a bit of coffee in the morning and a cup of bone broth in the evening. I’ve gone without caffeine before, but at the time, cutting out coffee on top of fasting felt a bit too restrictive for me personally. If you can do without it, all the better.
Below are some of the resources and products I found helpful both in preparation and throughout the three days.
RESOURCES
There are countless articles on fasting, but one I found especially helpful was 5 Benefits of a 3-Day Water Fast on the HigherDOSE site. It offers a clear summary of the benefits, how to prepare, and important guidance on who should avoid the practice entirely.
Whatever you may think of Tucker Carlson, I’m highlighting the podcast because of the moving testimony by Jonathan Roumie (who plays Jesus in The Chosen series) about devoting your fast. I took it as an opportunity to dedicate each day to someone I love, which became a beautiful way to pray for that person and stay motivated.
PRODUCTS
ARMRA Colostrum Immune Revival: I prefer to take it as a dry scoop (it has a bit of a Milk Duds taste) and this was a helpful supplement during the fast.
Ancient Lakes Essential Electrolytes: I’ve written about this mineral salt before and it remains a daily essential. I start each morning by mixing it with warm lemon water, and during the fast, I also added it to my water throughout the day.

Will a tucker pod be the push I need to finally try a fast?!
Love this article. Well done, can’t wait to hear this Tucker podcast.
